I have been hearing a lot about it. It's a movie featuring Sean Penn who plays Harvey Milk. It has already won numerous awards and is up for a golden globe. In 2008 a bill was up it would require the governor proclaim May 22 each year as Harvey Milk Day. It would encourage public schools and educational institutions to conduct suitable commemorative exercises on that date. It won majority votes with senate and assembly and was vetoed by Governor Schwarzenegger on September 30.
Harvey Milk was the first openly gay man elected to political office. I wonder if the release of this movie has anything to do with Proposition 8. Which by the way I keep hearing the attorney general who said he would stand by the people of course is not. Our voices seem worthless sometimes. Regardless we must persevere and fight hard just as the opposing side does. STAND STRONG- FIGHT HARD!
