Teen Girl Makes The Choice For The Life Of Her Daughter (Video)

Here is a pretty powerful video detailing the pregnancy of a teenage girl, her mother's response, and her church community as well. To learn more about how to help, visit the website of the Whittier Pregnancy Care Clinic.

I think this is what should epitomize the response to those in our churches who face the reality that one of their teenage girls, or any unmarried woman for that matter, becomes pregnant. Now that a new life has been created, the expecting mother needs to be provided with a strong support group. It is truly tragic when Christian women see abortion as the way to cover up their prior sin. One's church ought to be the place where repentance, forgiveness, reconciliation and renewal occurs.

This video re-enforces the idea that our churches do have an abortion problem. A decision to kill the unborn baby boy or girl is justified by a world that no longer values life as being intrinsically valuable because we are made in the image of God.

"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." Genesis 1:26-28

When Christians have adopted a worldly perspective on the value of life it starts to look like culture. Other historical instances when this has happened it lead to atrocities like slavery and the Holocaust. May our churches be a place where our brothers and sisters can find help in times of need and especially when that involves the expecting teen mother.
