Infantiicde, Obama, And Egypt

In responding to the grandiose and godlike comparisons of President Obama to ancient kings, I argued that we ought to compare Obama to King Manasseh. I would now like to draw this comparison out to an Egyptian Pharaoh, while noting that the root cause of each comparison is the same as is the evil fruit that is produced.

In the New Testament book of Acts, the apostle Stephen talks about the wickedness of the Egyptian Pharaoh who had enslaved the Israelites:

"As the time drew near for God to fulfill his promise to Abraham, the number of our people in Egypt greatly increased. Then another king, who knew nothing about Joseph, became ruler of Egypt. He dealt treacherously with our people and oppressed our forefathers by forcing them to throw out their newborn babies so that they would die." Acts 7:17-19

Going all the way back to the Old Testament book of Exodus do we see what this looked like:

The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, "When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them on the delivery stool, if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live." The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, "Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?"

The midwives answered Pharaoh, "Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive."

So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.

Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: "Every boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live." Exodus 1:15-22

As Christians we ought to be grieving that so many of our brothers are sister are supporting the murder of unborn and newly born babies. President Obama has more in common with the morally depraved Egyptians and the idolatry of King Manasseh because of his tolerance and even promotion of abortion. Obama is a pro-abortion absolutist who even accepted outright infanticide as a logical and necessary consequence to his ideas. Obama even defended his votes that prevented the intervention to save newborn babies, regardless of their being wanted by the mother.

It has been said that ideas have consequences, well idolatry has consequences and necessary consequences at that. Idolatry cannot be lead to evil fruit being produced.

This moral aspect of idolatry will lead to the open violation of God's Commandments. Evil will be called good and darkness will be called light:

"Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter." Isaiah 5:20

Society, the State, and even the priests of God will become advocates of sin while punishing righteousness and those who seek to live righteous lives:

"Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy." 1 Peter 1:13-16

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9

This is why it is critical that Christians keep themselves from idols, otherwise we will become instruments of lawlessness. Christians are priests of God and ought to be set apart to instruments of righteousness because we worship a righteous God, it is a grievous thing that many under the sway of the idolatrous and false religion of Liberalism are helping to propagate sin.

"We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Dear children, keep yourselves from idols." 1 John 5:19-21
