California Pro-Lifers Seek Amendment To Protect The Unborn

"California has joined the race to recognize human rights and personhood for all human beings from the biological beginning of development.

Some of the state's most outspoken pro-life advocates submitted the California Human Rights Amendment to Attorney General Jerry Brown following a press conference Monday in Sacramento.

"The preborn, while demonstrably alive and demonstrably human, are not protected 'persons' under our state constitution," said Lila Rose, the 21-year-old student pro-life activist, president of Live Action and cosponsor of the amendment. "Our laws must protect each person's basic human right to life, from the beginning of his or her life until the end."



The push is backed by the California Civil Rights Foundation, a coalition of pro-lifers including Rose, and sponsor Walter Hoye, the pastor arrested and imprisoned in 2008 for standing in silent witness outside an abortion mill.

"The California Human Rights Amendment recognizes that valuing human life is fundamental to life itself," Hoye said at the press conference, "and is the cornerstone of peace and prosperity for any society."

Hoye and Rose were joined by Judie Brown, president of American Life League, and Keith Mason, founder of PersonhoodUSA.

The activists stressed that personhood fulfills the dream of the civil rights movement.

"The injustice of denying the personhood of whole classes of human beings is an injustice that cannot go unchallenged," Brown said. "Now is the time for justice. Nothing less is acceptable in a republic based on the principle of equal justice for one and all."

California joins personhood movements in Missouri, Florida, Montana and Colorado. California state law requires a petition be circulated and signed by a number of people equal to at least 8 percent of votes cast for governor during the last state election..."

California Planned Parenthood Defrauds The State Of $180 Million

How many more reasons do we need to cut all funding to Planned Parenthood? Could defrauding the state of 180 million dollars be just a bump in the road or something more serious?

"The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit received legal papers from the American Center for Law and Justice today. They concern a case in which a former vice president of a Planned Parenthood abortion business affiliate in California has accused it of defrauding the state.

P. Victor Gonzalez says the abortion business fired him because he raised concerns about illegal practices of overcharging the state.

The former Planned Parenthood official filed a lawsuit in March 2008 against affiliates in California saying they overcharged the state hundreds of millions of dollars on birth control.

In January, a federal district court judge dismissed the case and Gonzalez filed an appeal. Now, the ACLJ, a pro-life legal group, filed a brief with the appeals court representing the federal whistleblower

The papers note that the federal False Claims Act (FCA) forbids government contractors from submitting “false or fraudulent” claims for payment. The FCA also authorizes private individuals to bring suit against the offenders to recover the fraudulently obtained funds.

“Nationally, Planned Parenthood is a billion-dollar operation. Now, it looks like they've been soaking the taxpayers even beyond the legal limits,” said Jay Sekulow, ACLJ Chief Counsel. “The False Claims Act provides an important weapon in rectifying illegal runs on taxpayer dollars.”

Gonzalez alleges that Planned Parenthood affiliates in California illegally marked up the supposed cost of various birth control drugs when seeking government reimbursement, resulting in tens of millions of dollars of overbilling – at taxpayer expense.

Gonzalez says his own internal audit estimates that Planned Parenthood overcharged California taxpayers for purchasing birth control by at least $180 million.

He was the vice president of finance and administration for Planned Parenthood of Los Angles and, according to a Los Angeles Times report, the overbilling began in the late 1990s.

While other public health facilities and private facilities charged the state between $8 and $9 for a cycle of birth control pills, Planned Parenthood charged almost $12. The Planned Parenthood charge to the California government was several times more than it paid for the drugs originally.

Gonzalez alleges that other California-based Planned Parenthood affiliates and Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California knowingly engaged in a scheme to defraud state and federal taxpayers by deliberately over-billing the Medi-Cal program..."

Pro-Life Advocate Murdered In Michigan

It is being reported by Life News that pro-life advocate has been killed while protesting abortion outside a Michigan school.

"Local officials and state police are confirming that a pro-life advocate was shot and killed outside a high school in this Michigan town. The person, who is described as well-known but whose identity has not been released, was shot multiple times while protesting abortion outside Owosso High School.

Officials say the shooting occurred at 7:30 a.m. local time and most students were inside the school building at the time of the incident.

State police have also confirmed they apprehended a suspect about 8:15 a.m. at the suspect's home in this small community northeast of Lansing.

The shooting did not take place on school property but officials have locked down the school and taped off most of the front portions of the school grounds.

Now, local police say there has been a second, possibly related shooting, in Owosso that they are now investigating. The suspect in custody may have been involved in the second shooting that took place at a gravel company and officials say they are looking for other suspects who may have been involved.

"We have two murders," Shiawassee County sheriff George Braidwood told the Argus Press. "We believe they are related and we have a suspect in custody..."

Will the media unequivocally condemn this shooting as they did George Tiller's? Or will they go the insane justifications to show that this was a lone lunatic not representative of abortion rights advocates?

Socialized Medicine In UK Lets Premature Baby Boy Die

It would be completely naive to think that the kind of rationing that leads to infanticide in the UK will not happen if ObamaCare is passed.

"Medics allegedly told her that they would have tried to save the baby if he had been born two days later, at 22 weeks.

In fact, the medical guidelines for Health Service hospitals state that babies should not be given intensive care if they are born at less than 23 weeks.

The guidance, drawn up by the Nuffield Council, is not compulsory but advises doctors that medical intervention for very premature children is not in the best interests of the baby, and is not 'standard practice'.

James Paget Hospital in Norfolk refused to comment on the case but said it was not responsible for setting the guidelines relating to premature births.

A trust spokesman said: 'Like other acute hospitals, we follow national guidance from the British Association of Perinatal Medicine regarding premature births.'

Miss Capewell, who has had five miscarriages, said the guidelines had robbed her son of a chance of life..."

Black Pro-Lifers Rightly See Abortion In Eugenic Terms

"President Barack Obama supports abortion and has done everything possible to expand the number of abortions during his brief tenure as president. While Obama may not have racist motivations for backing abortion, black pro-life advocates are saying that is the outcome.

Two African-American pro-life leaders are saying that, because abortions disproportionately target the black community, expanding abortions brings a racial result.

Day Gardner, the president of the National Black Pro-Life Union, tells LifeNews.com that Obama's abortion promotion is evident.

"In less than nine months he has overturned the Mexico City policy -- which means American tax dollars will be used to pay for foreign abortions. Most of those killed will be the children of my beautiful brothers and sisters in Africa," she explained.

'President Obama's most recent effort is to push a health care bill that will mandate taxpayer funding of abortions. He has gone on record to deny this fact, which leaves many Americans wondering if he has bothered to read the 1000 plus-page monster circulating Congress," she says.

Gardner points out that, since the 1973 Supreme Court decision allowing the destruction of more than 50 million unborn children, 17 million of them were black. That represents a larger percentage of the abortions than black Americans as a portion of the American population.

"Today, for every black baby born, another black baby is killed by abortion," Gardner says.

'I find Mr. Obama's abortion push especially strange because the abortion industry purposefully targets black people," Gardner continued. "The Alan Guttmacher Institute and the Center for Disease Control, (CDC), show that Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion chain, has planted its clinics -- more than 75 percent --strategically in our urban and minority dense neighborhoods."

"Every day Planned Parenthood manages to convince pregnant black girls, especially in urban areas to abort by making them believe their pitiful lives will be better if their unwanted, unloved, worthless black ghetto child dies," she said.

"They are wrong! We come from a strong stock of people who survived slavery and Jim Crow. We don't have to kill our children to have better lives," Gardner told LifeNews.com.

"So, how can President Obama support an industry that goes to such great lengths to kill black children?" she asks.

The black pro-life advocate believes Obama is beholden to pro-abortion groups that strongly supported his presidential bid.

Meanwhile, Fox News host Glenn Beck had Dallas-area pastor Stephen Broden, who made some of the same points.

Broden argued that the health reform bill being debated in Congress will lead to a campaign to exterminate black people in America.

Broden plugged a documentary, Maafa 21, that points out how the founders of Planned Parenthood, such as Margaret Sanger, had racial motivations for promotion abortion.

“What’s going on in that documentary is what’s going to happen in the health care package,” Broden told Glenn Beck.

“I believe what we're seeing is an orchestrated attempt to radically change this country from what the founders had in mind,” Broden said. “There is a deliberate attempt on the part of Marxist, socialist and … Darwin atheists who are changing this country.”

Ultimately Gardner says abortion must be strongly opposed in the same manner as genocide in African nations.

"If we are truly the America that holds life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness so dear -- then we must obliterate the scourge of abortion from our midst otherwise we are no better than the those who perpetrate the conflict in Darfur, Rwanda, or any other country where human beings are enslaved, butchered or denied their rights just because they are meeker or weaker," she says."
